Meaghan Buisson is an MSc graduate student in the Faculty of Public Health and Social Policy at the University of Victoria, located in British Columbia, Canada. Her research explores the impacts of service dogs on female veterans with PTSD from sexual violence.
She previously completed a Bachelor of Sciences (Honours) degree from Thompson Rivers University, where her thesis examined problematic research methodology in psychiatric drug trials. She is a service dog handler and passionate disability advocate.
Prior to graduate studies, Meaghan worked as a wilderness paramedic and expedition leader, and volunteered with Search and Rescue. A retired national team athlete, Meaghan is a current world record holder in the sport of inline speed-skating.
