Macharia is a classically trained musician, educator, and dedicated advocate for disability inclusion.
Originally from Kenya, he holds a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Nottingham, where his dissertation focused on the transformative potential of accessible digital musical instruments to overcome barriers faced by disabled young people in Kenya. His work involved the development of a digital instrument in partnership with the DigiScore Project, aiming to expand access to music education.
Currently based in Kenya, Macharia continues his commitment to empowering disabled youth through music education, hoping to make its benefits accessible nationwide. As someone with both physical and neurodevelopmental disabilities, he brings a unique perspective and personal insight to his advocacy work.
