(He/him) 2025
I am Puneet Singh Singhal, a passionate Disability Rights advocate, accessibility professional, and co-founder of Billion Strong, an organization committed to empowering persons with disabilities globally. I navigate multiple disabilities, including Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, and stuttering, and work at the intersection of Disability, Climate Change, Mental Health, and Urbanization. Through my community-based initiative, Green Disability, I amplify the voices and needs of persons with disabilities in climate action discussions and advocate for accessible and sustainable environments for all.
My journey began in a slum in Delhi, India, where I faced immense personal hardships, including domestic violence and poverty. Despite these challenges, I remained dedicated to my studies while caring for my chronically ill mother. My lived experiences as an indigenous disabled individual have fueled my advocacy for social change and inclusivity. I have also worked to raise awareness on important issues, such as digital security, through my initiative “Project Cyber Hygiene,” and advocated for marginalized communities through my role with the Delhi Minority Commission’s Peace Committee.
My leadership extends beyond national borders. Currently, I lead the Global Network of Young Persons with Disabilities (GNYPWD), where I developed a digital platform to empower young persons with disabilities globally. Under my leadership, GNYPWD launched the AccessAbility Innovation Challenge in collaboration with the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
I’ve been recognized by Forbes, awarded the Commonwealth Innovation Award, and serve on panels such as the DEI Panel at NASA and as an Assistive Technology Consultant for the International Disability Alliance (IDA). My work continues to bridge gaps in digital accessibility, inclusive design, and policy advocacy, ensuring no one is left behind in the fight for disability justice.
