(She/her) 2026

I’m a disabled social entrepreneur, author, speaker and non-executive director. I’ve been in the field of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for nearly four decades, as an independent consultant, business owner and social entrepreneur.

I was an independent Inclusion Consultant from 1990 to 2004, supporting organisations from a range of sectors to embed best practice in their recruitment and employment practices. This was pan-diversity, and included race, gender, LGBTQIA+, disability, age, socio-economic background and other characteristics.

Following that, I founded and led a training consultancy specifically supporting the public sector, mostly local authorities, on EDI. I employed a diverse range of consultants who used their lived experience to inform their delivery.

In 2011, I founded and am currently CEO of Evenbreak, a social enterprise run by and for disabled people, helping to close the disability employment gap. We offer training, consultancy and online services to help employers become more inclusive and accessible. We support disabled people looking for new or better work to navigate around disabling barriers. And we help both groups to find each other on the only global disability job board run by and for people with lived experience of disability.

I have published two books on disability inclusion and am currently writing a third, on creating human-centred workplaces.
