Enzo Romero is an engineer, researcher, and social entrepreneur specializing in assistive technology, particularly upper-limb prosthetics and bionic orthoses. He is the founder and CEO of LAT Bionics, a startup leveraging digital manufacturing and AI to provide affordable, customized prosthetic solutions in Latin America. Since 2021, LAT Bionics has served over 90 users and maintains a waiting list of approximately 300.

As a researcher at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), Romero has led applied research projects on AI-driven myoelectric prosthesis control, haptic feedback systems, and exoskeletons for post-stroke rehabilitation. His work integrates user-centered design, physiological signal processing, and advanced manufacturing techniques. He has published in high-impact journals and actively contributes to the development of assistive technologies in Peru.

A strong advocate for disability rights, Romero has been recognized internationally, including as a speaker at TED 2022 and MIT Innovator under 35 in 2024. He has secured competitive research funding, including grants from the Peruvian Government, and is currently preparing a PhD proposal at Southampton University to further his work on AI-driven personalized bionic devices.
