(She/her) 2026
Déborah Grández Seminario is a Peruvian accessibility consultant, disability rights activist and director of CAPAZ Perú, a disabled-led organisation working across education, culture, civic participation and employment.
Her work connects disability rights with practical changes in how institutions design their programmes, communicate and engage with communities. She has worked with public institutions, including Peru’s Ministries of Culture and Education, and organisations such as UNESCO, UNICEF and the British Council, contributing to accessibility initiatives, training and inclusive practices.
Through CAPAZ Perú, she leads projects that bring together disabled people, educators, cultural professionals and employers. She also directs FADIS, a festival that champions disabled artists, self-representation and cultural rights.
Déborah’s interests include critical disability studies, disability culture, and the ways colonialism and capitalism shape experiences of disability in Latin America. As a woman with an invisible disability, she also explores chronic pain, care and interdependence in leadership and collective organising.
She is committed to ensuring that disabled people are recognised as knowledge producers and decision-makers, and to building connections between community experience, institutional change and international dialogue.
