(She/her) 2025
I am a Principal Lecturer and Head of Postgraduate Taught Programmes at the University of Lancashire Business School, where I lead the strategic design and delivery of innovative postgraduate education.
As Co-Chair of the university’s Staff Disability Network, I represent the voices of disabled staff at the institutional level, reporting directly to the Staff Equality and Diversity Advisory Group. This role enables the network to influence policy, propose initiatives, and advocate for meaningful change across the university. Alongside my academic leadership, I am a Doctoral Student researching the lived experiences of disabled postgraduate research students in the UK, amplifying perspectives that are often marginalised within higher education. My research is deeply influenced by my lived experience. Born with phocomelia of the right arm and muscle deficiency down the left side, I was once told I would never sit, stand, or walk. I proved medical practitioners otherwise.
Over time, I have developed scoliosis, early cervical spondylosis, and myelopathy, which does affect my mobility, and I live with neuropathy and neurodivergence. These experiences shape my advocacy, my pedagogy, and my unwavering commitment to accessibility and equity. Driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of the human spirit, I design learning experiences that challenge convention and celebrate experimentation. I encourage boldness, curiosity, and authenticity in both academic and leadership contexts.
I am a passionate theatre enthusiast and advocate for learning through play, I integrate creative arts into teaching and leadership practice. Through methods such as LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, and improvisation theatre techniques, I foster resilience, strategic thinking, and self-discovery, offering inclusive, alternative, appreciative approaches to personal and professional development. My research interests span play and playfulness, disability advocacy, and accessibility. I am committed to reshaping narratives around inclusion and leadership through creativity, courage, and connection.
Philosophy: Be curious. Be bold. Be you.
