Joe Studholme

(He/him) 2024 | Studying LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2)

My name is Joe. I am neurodivergent and have a physical disability.

Having graduated with a degree in Physical Geography from Durham University, I am currently studying for a master’s degree in Legal Practice, whilst also studying for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.

I want to create a fairer and more equal society, where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. My motivation comes from my experience of growing up with disabilities and feeling different from the people around me. I have advocated for disability inclusion throughout my life. I was a disability officer at Durham University, have played high level cricket for Surrey’s county disability team and have tutored neurodiverse students.

Beyond my studies, I am passionate about sustainability. I was Head of Impact at the Durham University Climate Society, where I helped most of Durham’s colleges to adopt their first net zero pledge. I also love being active outdoors, in particular on hill walks as well as playing cricket and hockey.

My ambition is to be a leading disability advocate, both in the legal world and in disability sport. I look forward to working alongside my highly motivated and like-minded DLN colleagues, to help improve the world for people with disabilities.
